Ⅱ、Introduction

   The discipline of Chemical Engineering in Sichuan University is one of the National Key Disciplines in China. It is a famous discipline in Sichuan University and has a very high reputation in the area of chemical engineering in China. Sichuan University is one of the few universities which have the qualification to offer the Doctorate Degree for the Primary Discipline of “Chemical Engineering & Technology”. And it also has the qualification to set "Chemical Engineering and Technology" post-doctoral research station and "Cheung Kong Scholar" professor positions.

Chemical engineering is an engineering discipline on the study of the principles and common laws of the chemical and physical process in chemical industry and other industrial production, and on the application of these principles and laws to solve problems in development, design, operation and optimization of processes and equipment. Chemical engineering disciplines involved in various fields including new product development, process enhancement and design, system simulation and equipment improvement, operation control, environmental protection, production management, etc.

The discipline of Chemical Engineering in Sichuan University enjoys a strong faculty team. Presently there are 85 doctoral advisors, including 7 academicians, 1 academician (part-time/distinguished), 1 outstanding engineering professor, 1 discipline appraisal group expert of the State Council, 1 Yangtze river scholars distinguished professor of Ministry of Education, 1 national outstanding youth fund gainer, 3 experts enjoying the State Council special allowance, 1 deputy director of the chemical teaching steering committee of Ministry of Education, 1 academic leader of the national key disciplines, 3 new century excellent talents of Ministry of Education, 4 academic and technical leaders of Sichuan province.

The discipline of Chemical Engineering in Sichuan University also enjoys several high-level research platforms including the National Technology Center "Sichuan - Wengfu Phosphorus Chemical Engineering Technology Center", the National Technology Center "Sichuan - Kailin Phosphorus Chemical Technology Research & Development Center", "Engineering Research Center of Phosphorus Resources Comprehensive Utilization and Clean Processing" of Ministry of Education,""Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Phosphorus Chemistry and Engineering", "Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Filtration Separation", "Sichuan Provincial Key Laboratory of Multiphase Mass Transfer and Reaction Engineering", "Sichuan Provincial Technology Engineering Laboratory of CCU and CO2 Mineralization and Utilization", "Sichuan Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center of Advanced Phosphorus Chemical Technology and Equipment "and so on. Hundreds of state-level and provincial research projects were undertaken in recent years, such as "973" national key project, "863" national key project, key project of National Natural Science Funds, and key project of Ministry of Education. And about 200 million RMB researching funds was obtained to support their researches in the past five years. Chemical Engineering discipline have several advantage research fields: CO2 mineralization utilization technology, chemical engineering process intensification, hydrodynamics calculation, chemical system engineering, and phosphorus chemical engineering technology. Especially, it takes lead in the industrial engineering and technology transformation for its impressive achievements. And 1 first prize and 1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, and 1 grand prize of the Science and Technology Progress Prize of Ministry of Education were awarded for those outstanding scientific contributions. Nearly one hundred high-impact research results have been published on top international journals like Nature Communication, Chemical Society Reviews and Angewandte Chemie International Edition (impact factor IF> 10). To provide good environments to facilitate scientific research, the discipline has invented nearly 50 million RMB to build an instrument sharing platform, which already own about 100 sets of advanced equipment.

The doctoral students of Chemical Engineering discipline could enjoy plentiful international community opportunities. School of Chemical Engineering sponsors high-level academic exchanges, joint programs, international conferences and other international activities.

School of Chemical Engineering also provide plenty scholarship opportunities. Besides the national scholarship, more than ten companies set up scholarships for doctoral students of Chemical Engineering discipline, such as Evonik Industries AG, Endress+Hauser, Chongqing Shenghuaxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., China Chengda Engineering Co. Ltd., Lomon Group, Sichuan Lutianhua Co. Ltd., Sichuan Meifeng Chemical Co. Ltd. and so on.

Ⅲ、Length of schooling and years of study

The academic master's degree is 3 years, and the longest length of schooling is not more than 4 years.

The academic doctor's degree is 3 years, and the longest length of schooling is not more than 6 years.

Ⅳ、Credit

The minimum requirement for master: 34 credits.

The minimum requirement for doctor: 21credits.
